When we watch the cheerleading, the outfit is always the first thing to be noticed. In order to hit the first impression on the audiences, the tips of how to be eye-catching are critical. Except for the cheerleading uniform, the accessories like cheerleading bows are as important as the cloth. Usually the bows go along with the uniform, that is, the style is better to be the same. Some of the cheerleaders choose to order these with their own design to the supplier while some of them like to DIY their own accessories. Making cheerleading bows is not difficult, but there are still some tips or steps for you to know.
If your hair is long, it is better for you to choose the pinwheel hair bows. With the help of the pins, your hair can be settled while moving or jumping. Before you start to make it, you have to buy thick ribbons in one and an half inch to two and a quarter inch. As for the color, the best choice is according to the color of your uniform. You don’t have to purchase the ribbon in one color or it might look a little boring. Next, cut one yard of each ribbon and place the strips on top of the other. While you’re placing the ribbon, you can match the color well in this step. After this, fold four loops on each side of the ribbon. When you’re folding, don’t forget to use your fingers to press the middle of the bow. Then, put the folded bows aside and cut a six inch piece of ribbon and make each bow intertwined and wrap it on top of the bows while minding the spot where your fingers were holding. Before you glue a barrette to the bottom of the bow, don’t forget to hot glue the wrapping ribbon together and voila! You just made your own cheerleading bows.
