Before getting into more detail about the printed circuit board assembly, the basic idea of printed circuit board (PCB) should be known first. Basically, the PCB is to support and connect electronic components by using conductive pathways or signal traces that is etched from copper sheets, laminating it onto a non-conductive substrate. The conductive layers are generally made of copper foil, and the board is coated with green solder mask most of the time.
There are many ways to manufacture the printed circuit board, such as, etching, chemical etching, lamination or drilling. Among all the different ways, the etching, also known as patterning, is the most common way to made PCB. After finishing the PCB, the assembly is then formed by the attaching of electronic components. The set of electrical device is called printed circuit board assembly while sometimes it can be called as printed circuit assembly, or PCA. The PCB assembly is a technique that widely applies to electronic appliances. In order to make the devices work normally, the accuracy of the assembly should not be ignored.
At the same time, the assembly technique can be used in different industries. Except for electronic devices, it can also assemble the connectors and the automobiles. The connector assembly can be applied to mobile terminal, video camera or PC. The video equipment usually acquires good connector assembly to transfer signal. Most of the connectors can be assembled by yourself, and they are all easy to install. By doing so, you can know your own 3C products better rather than purchase a set of connector assembly.
