Have you ever counted the number of the plastic container in your house? I believe that most of us have at least five containers for storage. Speaking of which, the plastic containers are always the first choice when you want to store food, liquid or sometimes the medicine. As for me, I have about fifteen containers with different size. The reason why I have so many containers is because I usually take some fruit to work, and I need at least two in a roll. Sometimes I use it to store cookies, but the cap has to be very match to the container, otherwise the taste of the cookies might be changed by the moisture.
The advantages of having the plastic container are various. For example, it can keep the dirty stuff like dust away from the air. Also, it is always easy to be cleaned up and at the same to, to be collected in the cabinet. Most importantly, the material is much lighter than the glass to handle, not to mention that the price of the plastic is always lower than the glass. And I really like the variety of the sizes since they give me a wild range to choose from. I used to have a thin tall plastic bottle, and it had been my water container during my school time. With the merit of easy to carry around, I take it with me whenever I go.
Having some plastic containers around is quite convenient; however, one of the biggest concerns is the material itself. We all know that plastic is made from polyethylene, and it is actually poison to human body. No matter the material is in high or low density, they are still harmful to our health. In the market, there are many manufacturers producing plastic containers and some of them don’t really put enough effort developing the one with low quality of the poison. With some professional research, the poison element can be stabilized and cause low chemical effect while using the containers. Sometimes you can tell the quality of it from its appearance. According to my own experience (not the standard tips), the thicker the containers are, the safer they are. Another disadvantages of using the plastic container might be, they are not durable to high temperature. So, if you want to use the plastic bottles, do remember to fill at most warm water rather than hot water. Because the temperature might still release the chemical elements even you have the safest container.
