As the saying goes "Practice makes
Perfect" so it stands to reason that a perfect practice is the first step
to a perfect performance. Accordingly, it’s important for you to make sure
you're warmed up and ready to go before you start working out doing cheers.
There are four ways to warm up for cheerleading practice and performance. First
of all, do stretching. Stretching is the most important part of the cheerleader
warm-up. The cheerleader should stretch all of the muscles in her body from
head to foot. The stretching should last 5 to 10 minutes. Secondly, it is essential
that all cheerleaders warm up for cheerleading practice. They should start this
warm-up with leg warm-ups, then to other parts of body. Also, it’s good for
cheerleaders to wear cheerleading warm ups
for practicing to ensure the comfort. Watching and performing a warm-up routine
from a DVD video is another way that cheerleading squads can do warm up
exercises together. It helps the cheerleaders warm up while teaches them
techniques for working together.
Thirdly, before practice, cheerleaders should eat a healthy snack and drink plenty of water. This will prepare the body for a strenuous work-out. It will also prevent the cheerleader from becoming dehydrated during the practice. Last but not least, safety is all that matters! Review the rules and laws of safety when cheerleading. Knowing how to do the warm-ups and the practice exercises in a safe manner will make practice much more enjoyable and beneficial. Cheerleaders should always think about safety first. It is better to do things the right way than to deal with the injuries that result from not knowing the safety rules and laws.
