What is Bearing? Things You Need to Know About Bearing Industry

       As a major component for all moving parts making, bearings are the critical parts of our everyday lives. They can reduce friction, enabling smooth acceleration in automobiles, quiet running ceiling fans, accurate microscopes and effective dental drills. The bearing industry can be tracked back to the late 19th century. Following the mass production of automobile, this industry grows rampantly in 20th century. At present, it is global with production in over 70 countries on five continents.

       One of the common bearing materials is the seamless bearing steel tube. With its versatility, this material is widely used in lots of mechanical applications. During the annealed condition, this steel is comparatively easy to machine; in the meantime, very high hardness and abrasion resistance can be developed by heat treatment to make the steel particularly suitable for applications requiring extreme wear resistance. Other than mechanical applications, you can also find bearing components being widely used in industries such as automotive, aerospace, construction, off-highway, railroad, and medical instruments.
