
Allergic causes of cough in children is a condition in which a child's
cough is due to sensitivity to a specific substance called an allergen, which
results in an allergic reaction. While
some parents get confused between allergic cough and asthma cough easily. That’s
why many children with allergic cough may be using the wrong treatment. Therefore,
the first step to treat your children with cough is to identify the cause of
cough.

with allergic cough, you should check what the substances are, causing an allergic reaction, which is called allergen. In fact,
generally allergens that cause an allergic cough are pollen, animal dander, mold
and dust mites. Each kind of them is usually found in your home. Hence, keep
your home clean and well ventilated is essential to families which have
children with allergic cough.
Here are some steps to reduce
indoor allergens.
- Bed and bedding. Encase pillows, mattresses and box springs in dust-mite-proof
covers. Wash
sheets, pillowcases and blankets at least once a week in water heated to at
least 130 F (54 C). Remove, wash or cover comforters.
Choose bedding made of synthetic materials.
- Curtains or blinds such as vertical blinds and horizontal blind. Use
washable curtains made of plain cotton or synthetic fabric. Replace vertical blinds
or horizontal blind with washable roller-type shades.
- Pets. If your pet usually stay inside of the house, at least keep it out of your bedroom. Bathing pets at least twice a week could decrease the
amount of allergen in the dander they shed.
Not only keep a clean
environment for prognosis, therapy which you can do by your own is necessary as

- Clear out allergy cough by
drinking lots of fluids. Water and fruit juices are useful in clear mucous out
of your throat. It loosens up the mucous and makes it easier for your body to
get rid of if through coughing. Take small sips of fluid every time you feel a
cough attack coming on.
- Moisturize the air you breathe.
Take a hot shower and breathe in the air from the steam. Use a vaporizer or
humidifier to maintain the air moist in your bedroom. This benefit to loosen
the mucous and ease your allergy cough.
- Make your own natural cough
syrup. Take a little bit of lemon juice and mix it with twice as much honey. As
cough is out of control, drink this mixture every time to smooth the symptom.
